Free From Skincare Awards

We have entered our Natural Emollient Hydrating Cream and Deep Cleanser Soap / Therapy Bar in the problem skin category, which is for:

“Any skincare product designed to offer relief or be suitable for eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, rosacea or other allergic, problem or sensitive skin condition.”

Last year 2015, our Therapy Bar Soap won 1st prize!

It is a wonderful award as it is tested by beauty advisors, journalists, editors and consumers across the beauty industry and you can only enter if your products are natural.

Beauty Bible testers assess products for natural and ‘free from’ qualities, and for performance, effectiveness and ease-of-use.

The awards were founded in 2012 to celebrate, encourage and reward the manufacture of skincare products that are ‘free from’ many of the allergens, chemicals, additives, ingredients and artificial fragrances associated with skin sensitivities and other health concerns – and which may be useful to those seeking more natural or pure cosmetics, or looking to avoid certain ingredients due to ethical or personal reasons, or those who have sensitive skin, or allergic or problem skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and acne.

The Criteria

Expert judges look for innovation, originality, skin-healthy ingredients and benefits, and for products which denote an awareness and understanding of consumers with skin sensitivities or allergies, especially with regards to their labelling.

Products receive credit for transparent ingredient information, especially in conveying ‘free from’ attributes (including allergens), as well as declaring the original sources of chemically derived ingredients.

Ingredients lists and labelling which are clearly legible and easily visible, with good text size, colour contrast and font choice, optimised to help legibility, are also credited.

Other issues also taken into account, and these include value for money, packaging / presentation, use of sustainable / environmentally friendly, minimally processed or organic ingredients, use of natural preservatives, and modest fragrance allergen content.
