Chronic Dermatitis

Chronic DermatitisDermatitis may be an unattractive condition to suffer with but it isn’t serious when you look at it purely from a health perspective.

Usually symptoms of Chronic Dermatitis hang around on sufferers for their entire lives, which can be quite damaging to the quality of their day to day lives, so having a good awareness of Dermatitis and treatment options is crucially important.

What is Chronic Dermatitis?

Dermatitis is a type of eczema that can affect just about anybody to a certain extent. It causes the skin to appear red, dry, flaky, scaly or even blistered and cracked. A dermatitis sufferer may have to deal with their skin becoming itchy, irritated, inflamed and sometimes painful.

It can affect just about any part of the body (even on the scalp), but is most commonly found on the hands. It is thought to affect as many as 1 in 10 Americans, so is by no means a rare condition.

What causes the condition?

Factors that are thought to cause dermatitis can be generally anything that can aggravate the skin. So, coming into contact with irritants such as harsh soaps, detergents, certain fabrics and any chemical-based product could be responsible for symptoms of dermatitis. This means that allergy sufferers may be at a higher risk of developing the condition due to their more vulnerable hypersensitive skin.

Changes in temperature, stress, excessive hand perspiration and hot water can also cause the condition. There is thought to be a hereditary component  as it has been found to generally run in families, which makes treating the condition slightly more difficult.

How to treat it

If dermatitis continues to be untreated over a long period of time then it can begin to spread all over the body or, if on the hands, cause the nails to become deformed, so treating the condition as promptly as possible is highly recommended.

Avoiding the common irritants of Chronic Dermatitis is highly recommended and may well prevent further symptoms developing. Treating existing symptoms means choosing a safe, effective emollient or cream to rehydrate the skin and restore it back to its natural health.

The Syrinx Za Emollient and the Syrinx Za Skin Revitaliser are chemical-free remedies containing natural ingredients that are able to work together to draw impurities from the skin and effectively relieve dermatitis on the skin.

Alternatively, if the dermatitis is on the scalp then the Syrinx Za Scalp Combination is also recommended to gently soothe the affected area, reducing symptoms and reinstating the scalp to optimum health. Our products use the ancient healing powers of Sapropel and Argan to soothe and rehydrate the skin and scalp, whilst removing any toxins or impurities that may be present.
