All Natural Dry Scalp & Psoriasis Shampoo…

Syrinx Za Hair Products are all natural and ideal for people who suffer with dry scalp, eczema and psoriasis conditions. Syrinx Za hair care is a three-stage system consisting of a pre-wash, shampoo, conditioner.

Syrinx Za Hair Care: Why It Is So Special… All three products contain Zander, a highly organic deposit from remote lakes in Eastern Europe. The material is very pure and contains no man-made chemicals of any sort.Yet it is packed full of substances that are beneficial to the human hair and scalp. These include amino acids, lipids vitamins and fulvic acid.

All Natural Dry Scalp ShampooWhen applied to the hair as a prewash, these substances get to work-rejuvenating the fibres that compose the individual hair strands and moisturising the scalp. For people with scalp problems such as eczema and psoriasis, dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis and other complaints, Zander will reduce itchiness and improve your scalp condition, usually reducing the symptoms. Zander, argon, soya and olive oils all have properties to help bring this about. They are complemented by vitamin E (tocopherol) and lanolin.

All Natural Dry Scalp Shampoo

After half an hour the prewash can be rinsed out and your hair is ready for cleansing. Syrinx Za shampoo will perform this task in the gentlest, kindest way. It’s great for tinted hair and for long hair that needs careful treatment. Again Zander is used, along with argon oil from Morocco and wheat amino acids to massage and deep-clean. Finally the Syrinx Za conditioner is applied. Along with Zander and argon oil, it contains olive oil to condition and protect your hair and scalp. Zander hair care is very suitable for people who have problem hair and scalp. However it can be enjoyed by literally everyone. Because natural substances are used there is much less chance of adverse and allergic reaction. The surfactants used to bring these substances to the hair are the mildest available. Syrinx Za dry scalp and hair products are all natural.

Should You Wash Your Face?

Best facial scrubWell, you might be wondering why I am asking this crazy question: Should you wash your face?  This is because we have read in the news lately about people choosing not to wash their face, but to use some sort of oil to cleanse their skin and remove their makeup.

Apart from this being a very messy and time consuming practice, it appears to some that using oil to remove make up works, unless you have oily skin, then it could be a disaster.

Is this a skin-care fad – Should you wash your face?

This isn’t a new concept at all, using oils to cleanse your skin has been around for a while, the reason it hasn’t become popular is that for most people it just creates a mass of oily mess that can cause blemishes and spots.

Oils Dissolve Oils

They say that because the skin produces its own oil, that adding oil to the skin will dissolve oil the oil on your skin, they believe this to be a good thing but the skin will just produce more oil to counter act this action.

Oils are Good for the  Skin

We are certainly not saying that oils are not good for the skin, some  are great, oils such as

  • Argan Oil – Has excellent anti-ageing properties and contains Omega-6 and Vitamin F.
  • Olive Oil – Maintains Elasticity of the skin
  • Almond Oil – Makes skin smooth and silky
  • Coconut Oil – An Antioxidant which absorbs quickly into the skin
  • Castor Oil – Is useful in removing bacteria or dirt that clogs the pores and detoxes the skin
  • Tea Tree Oil – Has Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that stimulate the skins immune system.

Syrinx Za products contain the above oils

This is why all of these oils are in Syrinx Za’s products, but they are not used alone, mixed with other ingredients they provide the essential skincare that is needed.

Chemical Based Soaps

The reason for the fad to use oils to cleanse or remove make-up from the face is because people are starting to realise that normal chemical based soaps are harmful to the skin.

Deep Cleanser Therapy Bar

This is why we produced the Deep Cleanser Therapy bar, because you are getting the advantage of oils in the soap plus other natural ingredients that work together with the oils to deeply cleanse the skin, detoxify it and moisturise at the same time, producing younger looking, silky smooth skin.

So should you wash your face? The answer is yes you should but you need to use a natural soap such as the Deep Cleanser Therapy Bar

Mud Baths for Skincare

mud baths for skincareThe word “Sapropel” comes from two ancient Greek words sapros and pelos which describes muds or sediments found in lakes that are rich in organic matter.

Mud baths have been very popular for health and beauty treatments for thousands of years using many different types of mud from various sources such as lakes, saltwater sea, hot springs, and mud volcanoes. Spas offering mud baths for skincare have erupted in many towns and cities all over the world in more recent years.

Sapropel Mud Baths for Skincare

Sapropel Mud in particular which is found at the bottom of closed, fresh water marshes and lakes in a minority of places such as a  few lakes in Lavia and the Ukraine has been used by the locals for centuries for skincare. Even farmworkers and labourers often used it to heal sores or wounds gained by manual work.  This muddy humus (an organic matter that has reached a point of stability that will remain for unchanged for centuries) has many uses and is in great demand; it is even used in medicines.

Why is Sapropel so special?

Sapropel’s special power comes from the rich nutrients it contains; these nutrients boost the body’s own immune system allowing it to heal itself, which is why we include Sapropel in our range of products to treat skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, dry skin, cracked skin and many more.

Other Properties in Sapropel

  • Lipids, and Amino acids, great for dehydrated skin
  • Vitamins, to control healing
  • Minerals, to nourish and rejuvenate the skin
  • Fulvic and Humic stabstances to restore skin cells

Healthy Looking Skin

These properties working together with other ingredients will repair and maintain the skin, so whether you have a skin complaint or just want to maintain your skin to keep looking young, supple and healthy the natural way, Sapropel couldn’t be better.

But I don’t want a mud bath….

We’ve contained Sapropel in our natural products so that you don’t have to travel to far off distant lands, or maybe to a spa in your area that costs an absolute fortune to enjoy the wonderful benefits of Sapropel.  No, you can have sapropel available in your bathroom cabinet at all times, as a soap, and emollient or a cream, there is no need for you to have a mud baths for skincare to reap the full benefits of healthy glowing skin.

Other ingredients that are contained in Syrinx natural skincare products and also the hair and scalp products can be seen here – Syrinx Za Product Ingredients.

October is Eczema Awareness Month

eczema awareness monthWe’ve recently had eczema awareness week and now we have eczema awareness month which gives us much more time to raise awareness for this dreadful skin complaint that is not contagious and not curable.

All through the month of October the National Eczema Association is working hard to raise awareness about Eczema with various activities and publicity. You too can help, let us show that we care!

Spreading the Word

The aim for eczema awareness month is to spread the word as far and wide as possible so that one day it might be possible to find a cure.

What is Eczema Anyway?

Well, I’m glad you asked…  Eczema is an inflammation of the skin which is extremely itchy and uncomfortable. The word eczema actually is one of those ancient Greek words which means “to boil over” which exactly is how your skin feels when you suffer with eczema.

The skin has a red, itchy rash and gets worse if scratched. There are varying degrees of eczema from Acute to Infected – where some get pus filled blisters that weep and some that just get raised lumps or thickened very dry skin.

As we’ve said before eczema is NOT contagious, it can be that you were just unlucky that your parents had eczema and so it’s likely that you will. Some people seem to get for no reason at all and others are triggered by irritants, or many other reasons.

How You Can Help During Eczema Awareness Month

The National Eczema Awareness has a long list of suggestions on how you can help to raise awareness for eczema…

You can increase awareness by creating discussions at school or even holding school assemblies. Or by contacting your local TV and radio and sharing your stories.

Maybe hold some fundraisers, such as family fun days, car washing or bike rides.

What is the Best Eczema Treatment

There are many different types of eczema treatment out there and no skin is the same, everyone’s skin does react differently to different treatments.  Some don’t work at all, some seem to work for a few months.

However at Syrinx Za Natural Skincare we have had some extremely good results with our clinical testing where 80% of eczema sufferers reported improvements in their skin.  Well, we don’t want to blow our own trumpet but we are very pleased with our results and just glad that we can help people by treating their eczema and so making their lives a little better.

So, lets get out there this month and spread the word about Eczema and Eczema Awareness Month.

Please start now by pressing the buttons below !

Dog’s Itchy Skin #itchydogs

Dog's itchy skinIs your dog’s itchy skin driving you crazy because he has dry, flaking skin, with maybe lumps and bumps, scabs and spots, and you just feel so guilty?

Let’s face it, dog do get itchy and itchy dogs are a huge problem for dogs and a big concern for the owner, because there are over 500 different things that can cause a dog’s itchy skin issue, otherwise known as canine skin disorder.

With so many different causes it’s very difficult to find out what is causing that itch.

Treatment for Dog’s Itchy Skin

Syrinx Za might have found a way around that,  dog owners have said that our Deep Therapy Cleansing Bar have calmed the itch on their dog, which does make a lot of sense as it is a 100% natural handmade therapy bar, that contains no additives and is used for treatment on human skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and cracked or sensitive skin.

Dogs can get the same skin conditions as us humans, but they also have added offenders such as fleas, mites, ticks, and parasites and dog fur.  Even stress can affect our dog’s skin.

Gentle, Natural Soap

Usually what happens is that people try to use human shampoo on dogs but this shampoo is too harsh for a dog. Even frequent bathing can cause dry skin.  They need something soft and gentle (without chemical or fragranced additives) which will moisturise their skin.

Other ingredients in the soap that should help are sapropel, the rare lake sediment to hydrate and draw out impurities from the skin, olive oil, castor oil, coconut oil, turmeric and beeswax all which have abilities to lock in moisture, heal with antiseptic and provide a rich lather.

Pet owners have told us of dogs that live outside that get terribly dry skin, which are soothed.  Another dog owner told us of her dog that has allergies, who bites and gnaws at his paws has calmed a lot since they started using the soap.

Helping Your Itchy Dog

It is also a benefit to regularly brush the dog to keep him clean as this will also moisturise his skin.

Keeping the dog hydrated is essential, plenty of water and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Obviously it’s the same as with humans but more so that all dogs are different and what helps one of our canine friends might not help another but we think that it’s worth a try to soothe your dog’s itchy skin.   One bar of soap will last a very long time when you only need to bathe him around once a month, try it and see.

Razor Burn Treatment

How to get soft legsShaving is obviously very popular for most of the population; Men’s faces or women’s legs or a number of other places are shaved to produce smooth, soft skin but it can often lead to unattractive red, itchy razor bumps we know as Razor Burn or shaving rash.

This usually occurs when the hair follicles are infected with bacteria which can cause inflammation of the skin or just the wrong technique is used and so painful red bumps appear.

Preventing Razor Burn

We know that red, sore, bumpy skin isn’t exactly the look you were going for, so here are some steps you can take to prevent irritation and reduce the already red, inflamed skin.

Shaving Technique

You’ve probably been shaving for years; and think that you don’t need someone to tell you how to shave but most people do not realise that preparation is key.

First make sure that your razor is clean and sharp, otherwise this will irritate the skin causing ingrown hair and razor rash. Replace razors often.

Preparing the skin is so important as dry skin, oily skin, or dead skin cells can block pores and cause a rash.

Hydrating Skin Before Shaving

Splash your face with warm water to begin with. Then cleanse your skin with a non-chemical soap such as the Deep Cleansing Therapy Bar which works wonders for preparing your skin for a shave.  The warm water will soften your hairs and help open the pores so that the rich lather of the Therapy bar with its antiseptic, detoxifying and purifying qualities can thoroughly cleanse the skin and lock in the moisture that you need.

After you have rinsed you can then create some more lather to actually shave with, apply this thick later to the skin using circular motions to ensure coverage.

When you are shaving, ensure you are not pressing to hard, you should only need light gentle strokes and if you need to try to keep the skin taught.  Another tip is to make sure that you rinse the blade often. Some people find that not going “against the grain” prevents razor rash too – you might not get such a close shave though but it will be worth it.

Rinse your skin thoroughly to ensure you have washed off any lather or hairs that might have been left behind, gently pat dry and apply the Syrinx Za Skin Revitaliser to reduce redness, irritation and to keep the skin hydrated to prevent razor burn.

Scalp Dermatitis

what is dandruffScalp Dermatitis or Seborrheic dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin which causes an oily rash with scales or yellow flakes and it can be painful and particularly embarrassing for the sufferer.

Seborrheic dermatitis not only affects the scalp, it can develop on the face and the centre of the chest.

Although sufferers may feel alone in their suffering about 3-5% of people are affected.

What Causes Scalp Dermatitis?

The same as most skin complains it’s unknown what causes Seborrheic Dermatitis but it is thought that a yeast that lives on the skin could be the culprit.

Although Seborrheic Dermatitis can affect anyone of any age it is common in people with certain neurological diseases or people with an immune deficiency which means that the immune system has a large part to play in this.

Unlike some skin complains such as Eczema, which can sometimes be caused by diet, foods do not seem to cause Seborrheic dermatitis to flare up. Although some foods have been connected to inflammation in general.  Flare-ups maybe caused by stress, tiredness, weather, and certain medicines.

Symptoms of Scalp Dermatitis

The scalp is unbearably itchy, inflamed, red and sore and oily flakes will appear that are white or yellow. This scaling can also appear on the face or the chest.  There can also be a rash that might weep.  The non-inflamed version of seborrhoeic dermatitis is actually the well-known dandruff or the lesser known name pityriasis capitis which is the shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp

Treating Scalp Dermatitis

As always its best to stay away from any triggers that you know about, here are some tips that might help.

If you have a high level of chlorine in your water, it can help to fit a chlorine filter, as chlorine is known to aggravate our skin.

Switch from harsh chemical based soaps, detergents and shampoos to a natural alternative, such as the Deep Cleansing Therapy Bar for washing.

Avoid like the plague standard dandruff shampoos, they are filled with chemicals and fragrances that might be a quick fix but will irritate your skin even more causing worse problems.

Scalp Dermatitis Treatment Routine

Syrinx Za scalp and hair treatments deep cleanse the affected skin using mainly natural ingredients to deeply moisturise the scalp. The mixture of these ingredients including Sapropel are clinically proven to reduce inflammation, redness, itching and to reduce or eradicate flakes.

There products are:-

Pre-wash treatments =  Scalp reviver

How to use – Massage very gently into the scalp (do not be tempted to scratch) and comb through to the ends of the hair – leave on for 20 to 30 mins.

Shampoo = Scalp and Hair Cleanser

Use just as your normal shampoo to cleanse the scalp

Conditioner = Scalp and Hair Enricher

Use as a normal conditioner but this one is by far no means normal it has been developed to normalise scalp conditions for eczema.

Within a few treatments you should start to notice a difference with your scalp dermatitis.

Skin Tag Remover

skin tag removerThey say in order to love ourselves we need to love our body. Let’s face it, that can be a difficult task, when we don’t have what is classed as the perfect body.

So, why am I talking about Skin Tag Remover? Well, there is always some part of our body we want to change, usually because we see models or actors or actresses in the media and they seem to look perfect but guess what, they too have the same problems and feelings as us.

Feel Good About Your Body

There are some simple changes we can make, without breaking the bank or having to sign up for surgery. We can eat well, get exercise each day, get enough sleep and… we can get rid of those nasty, unsightly, embarrassing bits of hanging skin called Skin Tags and all we need is a Skin Tag Remover. No pain, no chemicals, definitely not steroids, and no sharp knives just a natural skincare remedy. Its little things like skin tags that are just annoying and do not need to be there. Feeling good about our body will help our self-esteem and all we really only need is to do is make a few simple changes to our body inside and out.

Why Do We Get Skin Tags

Skin tags are perfectly harmless 99% of the time and very common. Around 60% of the population have had one or more skin tags.  Anyone of any age can develop skin tags but it does seem more common with people who might be a bit plump or people over the age of 50. As with most skin conditions there isn’t really a known cause.  It is thought that these soft lumps of tissue called skin tags appear when your skin rubs against more skin or clothing, over a period of time.

Where Do We Get Skin Tags

Common places to find skin tags are on the neck, the armpits, under breasts and sometimes they appear on eyelids too.   The skin tags that are on the neck or eyelids are particularly embarrassing and they are most difficult to hide and they can get caught in jewellery or clothing.

Skin Tag Remover

To remove skin tags with our natural skin tag remover is very simple…

Using the Deep Cleanser Therapy Bar; create a rich lather – use the bar to scrub against the skin tag allowing the lather to spread over the area. Leave the lather to dry and leave on overnight.  In the morning rinse and repeat these techniques except this time just leave the lather on for as long as possible and hopefully this will be the only skin tag remover you will ever need.

Difference Between Eczema And Psoriasis

Psoriasis TreatmentMany people ask “What is the difference between eczema and psoriasis?”  as it’s quite difficult to tell one inflamed, itchy, patch of red skin from another.

It is tricky to tell these skin conditions apart, even dermatologists sometimes have trouble due to the fact they are both types of dermatitis and have one thing in common, inflammation of the skin.

Causes of Eczema and Psoriasis

Eczema is believed to be hereditary, an allergic reaction or linked to environmental factors. However, the true cause is not known.

Psoriasis is a life time condition that can be caused by a number of factors also such as stress, medications, and the weather.

Dry skin and Eczema/Psoriasis

The first thing to note is that not all patches of psoriasis are of dry skin, psoriasis skin consists of red, scaly patches of skin which is due to an over production of live cells that eventually causes scaling.

Eczema however often does include dry patches of cracked also itchy and painful skin. That may blister.

Is Age a Factor

Usually but not always eczema would appear from an early age, and more commonly psoriasis affects adults.

Natural Eczema and Psoriasis Treatments

There is no cure for either condition but both can be treated in a similar way using natural skin care treatment.

For both conditions, it is most important that you stay away from standard soap bars and liquid cleansers.  Not only is this soap very drying to the skin it contains chemicals and perfumes that will irate the skin.

We have a range of natural skin care products for skin conditions that can help eczema and psoriasis; all products contain Zander which is a nutrient rich mud  used by local people in Latvia and Ukraine for centuries. Zander gives the skins own immune system a huge boost allowing it to heal itself.

The Syrinx Za Therapy Bar contains no chemicals, perfume or other impurities, and will deep cleanse the skin and maintain the moisture; this helps the skin produce its own protective oil that other soaps actually can inhibit.

Psoriasis needs an emollient that will allow the skin to heal, reduce inflammation, adding moisture fast into the skin. This improves the skins appearance and keeps irritations away.

Eczema also needs this tender care from an emollient to soothe and moisturise the skin to ease the itching and to reduce chances of flare-ups.

So, it can be difficult to know the difference between eczema and psoriasis but its good to know that with care you can get both under control !

Please note – in support of National Eczema Week 2013 we are offering a 20% discount with use of the code ECZEMA2013 at the check out.

Cradle Cap Treatment

Cradle CapSeborrhoeic dermatitis or as its more well known: Cradle Cap is that scaly, yellow scalp condition seen on baby’s scalps.

Strangely enough although its more commonly seen on the scalp Cradle Cap can appear on the face, neck, behind the ears and skin folds on the baby.

Some times inflammation can occur due to a reaction of the skin but most babies do get away with just having a mild form of this condition. If your baby seems in discomfort or the scalp appears infected the please seek a doctors advice.

When Does Cradle Cap Appear?

Half of all babies are affected with cradle cap and it appears when the child is between two and six months old. Cradle cap can often clear up by itself after a few weeks but some can take months or even longer.

Symptoms of Cradle Cap

It seems to upset parents more than the baby itself as it does not usually cause itching or much discomfort to the baby, but what you will see  are large, greasy, yellow or brown crusts, flakes or scales.  However tempted you are to just pick off the scales thinking that will make it look better please do not, as this can cause infection.

What Causes Cradle Cap

Do not worry Cradle Cap is not contagious, and not contracted through any hygiene issues.  Experts are not certain what causes it but they believe that its due to overactive sebaceous glands.

Cradle Cap Treatment

Treating cradle cap is relatively simple. Whats required is a natural shampoo formulated to treat scalp conditions.  You might think that a mild shampoo, or a baby shampoo would be natural enough but usually these still contain detergents, perfumes, and other chemicals which would just irritate the skin condition further.

Syrinx Za Scalp Treatment – or Scalp Reviver will do just the trick

Its been developed to normalise scalp conditions for people and children who suffer with eczema, dermatitis, dry scalp, psoriasis and dandruff and its mild enough for babies.

Directions for use

  • Dampen hair or scalp
  • Apply the cream and gently massage into the scalp
  • Leave on for 20mins or for as long as possible.
  • Rinse
  • Shampoo as normal.

This should give moisture to the scalp, remove inflammation and prevent a build up of scales. For best results use the scalp treatment for Cradle Cap once or twice a week.
